Kathy Kelly’s Asbury Park Tour Company® Launches Walking Tours for Schools
Asbury Park, NJ — Established in 2008, Kathy Kelly’s Asbury Park Tour Company® is launching a series of walking tours designed specifically for school groups, offering students the opportunity to experience the history, folklore, and cultural evolution of the Jersey Shore through guided exploration of Asbury Park.
Our tours feature local guides, local legends, national history, and the real stories that shaped the region. Students walk through the streets of Asbury Park while learning about the deep history of the Jersey Shore, from the earliest coastal communities and the prehistory of the region to the role the area played during the American Revolution and the emergence of Asbury Park as a center of art, music, and cultural change.
More than traditional ghost and history tours, these programs bring together folklore, documented history, and place-based storytelling to help students understand how local events connect to broader national stories. Walking through the locations where these events unfolded allows students to experience history in a direct and memorable way.
Tours can be scheduled in advance and customized to match the age level and interests of each school group. Programs are available for elementary, middle, and high school students and can focus on local history, cultural movements, folklore, or the broader story of the Jersey Shore.
