Creatures, Cinema & Community: The Jersey Devil Festival Flourishes

This year’s Jersey Devil Fable Festival® was one of our strongest yet, and I want to congratulate all of the filmmakers, artists, podcasters, vendors, speakers, volunteers, and attendees who helped make the weekend such a success.

Congratulations to this year’s Jersey Devil Film Festival® winners:

Micro Short: Attack of the Atomic Menace Chapter Four — Director Vincent DiConstanzo

Short: Corner of My Eye — Matt Ronzani

Long Short: The Spoiled — Director James E. Morley III

Best of Fest: Dishearten — Director Alfredo Rios Escandon

The film festival continued to grow this year with an incredible lineup of independent films ranging from horror to dark comedy to experimental projects. One of the things I appreciate most about the festival is that it still feels personal. Filmmakers are accessible, audiences are engaged, and the atmosphere feels supportive rather than competitive.

The Pod Barrens continued to become one of the most unique parts of the festival. Live podcasts, discussions, and lectures created an energy throughout the weekend that made the event feel active and interactive rather than just a series of scheduled attractions.

The vendor marketplace was packed with artists, creators, oddities, horror merchandise, books, and handmade work that reflected the creativity that has always been part of this community. Supporting independent artists and small businesses has always been important to us, and it was great seeing so many people connecting directly with creators throughout the weekend.

After nine years, one of the most rewarding things is seeing how broad the audience has become. The festival attracts horror fans, folklore enthusiasts, paranormal investigators, film lovers, artists, local families, and people who simply want to experience something different. The Jersey Devil legend continues to bring together an amazing and creative community, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and supported the festival this year.
