Witch’s Hollow- The Asbury Park Jack O’Lantern Festival

Not everyone knows about the haunted history of old Asbury Park.  That’s okay…you don’t need to know it..at least not most days.  But, should you find yourself in Asbury Park in the month of October..especially on a night known for its Mischief..it would not hurt to be in the know.
Back in the day Asbury Park, before it WAS Asbury Park was a stomping ground for a lot of different creatures, including some you might call Witches.  Witches, like most everything else, come in all manner of types; there are tall ones and short ones and one that fall just right, there are weak ones and strong ones and one with fearsome might;  there are witches that excel at sports and chess and witches who love bugs or who couldn’t care less.  There are witches who love candy and some who make food and there are witches who are friendly and some up to no good it takes all kinds of witches for a witch neighborhood.
Now that the rhyme is out of the way, let me tell you a bit about Witch Hollow.  Witch Hollow is a magical place that floats in and out of time, appearing only for a few days each year.  It has this magical power because it is the place where the witches of the past would meet to have parties and shindigs and book clubs and farmers markets etc etc..  The witches are not gone, mind you, but they meet in lots of places nowadays.
But the magic that the place has means it is very powerful and it attracts all sorts of creatures.  This year it will reappear on Friday 10/30 and it will be chock full of jack o’ lanterns and other Halloweeny things!  You and your family are invited to wander through Witches Hollow from 7 om – 9 pm and its FREE!  If you are so inclined, we will be accepting donations for The Asbury Park Dinner Table.
There are lots of people who get together to summon an event like this and we want to thank:
House of Independents
Asbury Park Business Committee
Another Pair of Hands
Krampus Asbury Park
Parlor Gallery
