The Jersey Devil has a rich and deep history that has burrowed into the collective subconscious. Unique amongst creatures, he flies through the night sky, tree top to tree top. Stories of his beginning speak of a pact with the devil, but stories of seeing him are far less moralistic. Instead he is a terrifying creature that defies logic or description. Yet many stories tell of his indifference to people. What is he? is he a he at all?

The release of this film in 1998 is largely considered to be the first feature length film shot on handheld cameras and edited completely on a desktop editing suite. In addition, it is one of the earliest “Found Footage” films ever produced. It helped move Independent Film forward by making it more accessible to film makers. Weiler & Avalos, both from NJ chose the state’s favorite beast, The Jersey Devil as a premise for their film. They join us on April 6 to talk about their inspirations and the challenges they faced. Seating is extreely limited, so please get your tickets NOW.
